2025首屆「運(yùn)河設(shè)計(jì)獎(jiǎng)」是由C-WORKS與晶通 KINGDOM GROUP/零木智造聯(lián)合發(fā)起的設(shè)計(jì)創(chuàng)意大賽，以可持續(xù)材料與未來建造為核心，立足杭州大運(yùn)河的文化背景，連接材料創(chuàng)新與空間創(chuàng)意。
The 2025 Canal Design Award is a creative design competition jointly initiated by C-WORKS and KINGDOM GROUP / Zero-Wood Manufacturing, focusing on sustainable materials and future fabrication. Rooted in the cultural context of the Grand Canal in Hangzhou, the award aims to connect material innovation with spatial creativity.
The competition encourages designers and creatives to explore eco-friendly new materials for future spaces, especially those promoted by Noun-Wood Manufacturing—sustainable, formaldehyde-free, recyclable materials that replace traditional timber.
This award centers on the theme “Workstation Curator”, inviting participants to rethink everyday workspace through circular, shared, and sustainable design.

競(jìng)賽形式
本次「運(yùn)河設(shè)計(jì)獎(jiǎng)」采用線下作品展的形式，不再設(shè)置傳統(tǒng)的方案征集和評(píng)審環(huán)節(jié)，組委會(huì)委托先鋒事務(wù)所UNFOLD PLANE建筑事務(wù)所設(shè)計(jì)并制作9個(gè)多功能展陳裝置，制作材料首選晶通的贊助板材。這些展陳裝置將作為參賽者創(chuàng)作成果的載體，每1個(gè)盒子的內(nèi)部空間，將由1組參賽者自由布置。
Exhibition-Based Competition Format
Instead of traditional plan submission and jury review, this competition adopts an offline exhibition format. The committee has commissioned the avant-garde Architectural studio UNFOLD PLANE to design and fabricate nine multifunctional display boxes, using panel materials sponsored by KINGDOM GROUP. Each display box becomes a curatorial space. Each shortlisted team will independently design and install their work inside one box.

創(chuàng)作內(nèi)容
The nine shortlisted teams will create their works inside the display boxes. Presentation formats may include, but are not limited to, small installations, drawings, photography, models, and handcrafted pieces. All works should reflect this year’s themes of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and KINGDOM FLOOR’s design values. Teams are encouraged to use bold imagination and integrate sustainable concepts into their creations. All works must remain entirely within the box to ensure a consistent exhibition appearance.
The committee strongly encourages participants to use sustainable materials—such as recyclable components or eco-friendly material samples provided by KINGDOM FLOOR—to align with the mission of the competition.

參賽對(duì)象
大賽采取定向邀請(qǐng)與公開招募相結(jié)合的方式征集參賽者。
報(bào)名方式
公開招募報(bào)名將通過線上渠道進(jìn)行。參賽者可在活動(dòng)公告發(fā)布后，通過指定報(bào)名鏈接或二維碼提交報(bào)名信息，組委會(huì)將在報(bào)名開啟后根據(jù)提交順序及方案創(chuàng)意，對(duì)報(bào)名者進(jìn)行初選。

Eligibility
The competition will recruit participants through a combination of invited nominations and an open call.
How to Apply
The open call will be conducted online. After the announcement is released, applicants may submit their information through the designated registration link or QR code. The organizing committee will conduct a preliminary selection based on the order of submission and the creativity of the proposed concept.

Submission Requirements
Submit a bilingual (Chinese–English) team introduction, portfolio, and a concept design statement within 300 words, accompanied by visuals.

Registration Launch (Nov 21 – Dec 5)

The organizing committee will select nine shortlisted teams from all applicants to proceed with concept development.
“Claim a Box” Concept Design (Dec 8 – Dec 22)
The nine shortlisted teams develop their box concepts and present them in PPT, model, or video format.
On-site Presentations & Jury Review (Late December)
All nine teams will give live presentations, followed by jury Q&A. Major awards will be selected.
Box Completion & Exhibition Setup (Late December)
Shortlisted teams will install their works on-site.
All entries will be exhibited at C-WORKS, Canal Vanke Center.
Award Ceremony (Early January)
Offline ceremony announcing all winners, followed by trophy and certificate presentations.
