Urban renewal doesn’t always begin with a building. Sometimes, it starts with something as small as a canopy.
A canopy that can’t keep out a summer downpour. A sign that disappears in the crowd. A stallholder with nowhere to hang or display their goods…

這個(gè)春天,首屆 LOCUS 天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)創(chuàng)意市集競(jìng)賽正式開(kāi)啟。
天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)面向全國(guó)公開(kāi)征集 2.5×2.5m 市集棚架創(chuàng)意方案,邀請(qǐng)建筑、室內(nèi)、工業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)、展陳、景觀等相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的設(shè)計(jì)師、機(jī)構(gòu)與院校師生參與。
優(yōu)勝方案將獲得 45萬(wàn)元稅前獎(jiǎng)金(包含設(shè)計(jì)費(fèi)、80套棚架制作費(fèi)用及設(shè)計(jì)生產(chǎn)版權(quán)買(mǎi)斷費(fèi)用) ,并進(jìn)入后續(xù)棚架的深化與落地。
This spring, the inaugural LOCUS Creative Market Competition for OōEli International District officially launches.
OōEli International District is now openly calling for innovative proposals for a 2.5 × 2.5 m market canopy, inviting designers, studios, and students from architecture, interior design, industrial design, exhibition design, landscape design, and related fields across China to participate.
The winning proposal will receive a pre-tax award of RMB 450,000 (inclusive of design fees, the production cost of 80 canopy units, and the buyout of design and production rights), and will proceed to the subsequent detailed design and implementation phase.

當(dāng)路上詩(shī)歌節(jié)遇上天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)
「路上詩(shī)歌節(jié)」不是一個(gè)傳統(tǒng)意義上聚集在劇場(chǎng)或美術(shù)館里的詩(shī)歌朗誦會(huì),而是一場(chǎng)以城市為場(chǎng)域、以日常街巷為展線、以每一個(gè)行走其中的人為主角的公共文化事件。

展覽、對(duì)談、市集、表演四個(gè)單元,都將發(fā)生在天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)之中。
市集,則被界定為 “一種重新進(jìn)入城市的方式”。
放在更大的城市語(yǔ)境中,天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)也有了更明確的位置。西湖區(qū)近年持續(xù)推進(jìn) “兩鎮(zhèn)六街區(qū)” 建設(shè),天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)正是其中的重要板塊。它所面對(duì)的,已經(jīng)不只是一個(gè)項(xiàng)目本身的完成度,而是一處街區(qū)如何持續(xù)承接公共生活、組織內(nèi)容、形成城市界面的命題。

2025年煥新亮相后,天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)以天目里為核心,聯(lián)動(dòng)周邊約300余畝范圍,串聯(lián)北園、天目里、南岸三大公共活動(dòng)空間。空間更新已經(jīng)完成,接下來(lái)真正需要推進(jìn)的,是街區(qū)如何被更好地使用,如何在日常中持續(xù)發(fā)生。
Road Poetry Festival is not a conventional poetry event confined to a theatre or museum. It is a public cultural program staged within the city itself, using everyday streets and urban routines as its exhibition ground, and the people moving through them as its protagonists.
Its four main components — exhibitions, talks, market, and performances — will all take place within OōEli International District.
The market, in this context, is understood as “a way of re-entering the city.”
Seen within a broader urban framework, OōEli International District also assumes a clearer role. In recent years, Xihu District has been advancing the development of the “Two Towns and Six Districts” initiative, with OōEli International District serving as one of its key components. What is at stake here is no longer simply the completion of a project, but how a district can continue to accommodate public life, organize content, and shape an urban interface.
Following its renewed unveiling in 2025, OōEli International District, centered on OōEli, now links an area of over 300 mu and connects three major public activity zones: North Garden, OōEli, and South Bank. The spatial renewal is in place. What follows is the more difficult task: how the district is actually used, and how it can continue to generate everyday life.

Why
the Market
為什么是市集?
街區(qū)的生命力,往往不體現(xiàn)在某一個(gè)節(jié)點(diǎn)活動(dòng),而體現(xiàn)在高頻、開(kāi)放、可參與的日常機(jī)制中。市集正是這樣一種機(jī)制。它承接人流,激發(fā)停留,連接消費(fèi)與交流,也讓街區(qū)的內(nèi)容從“被看見(jiàn)”走向“被參與”。

對(duì)天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)而言,問(wèn)題從來(lái)不是“有沒(méi)有內(nèi)容”,而是現(xiàn)有內(nèi)容如何形成更穩(wěn)定的空間經(jīng)驗(yàn)。建筑辨識(shí)度、品牌基礎(chǔ)、客群氣質(zhì)、公共空間品質(zhì),都已經(jīng)建立起來(lái);下一步要補(bǔ)足的,是讓這些優(yōu)勢(shì)真正進(jìn)入日常,讓街區(qū)的活力以更具體、更持續(xù)的方式被感知。
市集是一個(gè)系統(tǒng),棚架則是其中最基礎(chǔ)的一層。
它關(guān)乎遮蔽、陳列、搭建、識(shí)別與動(dòng)線,也直接決定攤位與街區(qū)之間的關(guān)系。很多時(shí)候,一場(chǎng)市集的氣質(zhì),并不首先來(lái)自視覺(jué)宣傳,而是來(lái)自人們走近攤位時(shí)的第一眼判斷。
所以,首屆 LOCUS 把題目落在 2.5×2.5m 市集棚架 上。
The vitality of a district rarely lies in a single event. More often, it is sustained through everyday mechanisms that are frequent, open, and participatory. The market is one such mechanism. It accommodates foot traffic, encourages people to linger, connects consumption with exchange, and turns district content from something merely seen into something actively experienced.
For OōEli International District, the issue has never been whether there is content, but how existing content can be translated into a more stable and tangible spatial experience.Its architectural identity, brand recognition, audience profile, and public-space quality are already in place. What remains to be strengthened is how these advantages enter everyday life, and how the district’s vitality can be felt in more concrete and lasting ways.
A market is a system, and the canopy is its most fundamental layer.
It shapes shelter, display, assembly, legibility, and circulation. It also determines the relationship between each stall and the district as a whole. In many cases, the character of a market is not first defined by promotional graphics, but by what people perceive in the instant they approach a stall.
For this reason, the inaugural LOCUS chooses to focus on the design of a 2.5 × 2.5 m market canopy.

微空間計(jì)劃
「天目里社區(qū)微空間計(jì)劃」由 天目里 × 杭州天目里蔦屋書(shū)店 × ArchiDogs 筑格傳媒 聯(lián)合發(fā)起。
這是一個(gè)長(zhǎng)期項(xiàng)目,將持續(xù)聚焦“社區(qū)微空間”命題開(kāi)展征集與落地,形成“發(fā)現(xiàn) — 提案 — 落地 — 復(fù)盤(pán)”的持續(xù)循環(huán)。
第一季聚焦市集棚架(2.5×2.5m)。后續(xù)命題將延展至導(dǎo)視與標(biāo)識(shí)、街角座椅、遮雨設(shè)施、臨時(shí)展陳單元、邊角空間等方向。逐年迭代更新,構(gòu)建可在創(chuàng)意園區(qū)推廣的微更新方法庫(kù)。
通過(guò) Discover(發(fā)現(xiàn))→ Design(提案)→ Deliver(落地)的閉環(huán)實(shí)踐,我們希望讓每一次小改變,都準(zhǔn)確發(fā)生在“場(chǎng)所”上。
The OōEli Community Micro-Space Program is jointly initiated by OōEli × Hangzhou OōEli TSUTAYA BOOKS × ArchiDogs.
This is a long-term initiative. It will focus on one “community micro-space” topic, pairing open calls with on-site implementation, and building an ongoing cycle of discovery, proposal, implementation, and review.
Its first season focuses on the market canopy (2.5 × 2.5 m).
Season One focuses on market stall canopies (2.5 × 2.5 m). Future briefs will expand to include wayfinding and signage, street furniture such as corner seating, rain shelters, temporary exhibition modules, and underutilized edge spaces. The program will be iteratively updated year by year, building a scalable toolkit of micro-interventions for creative campuses.
Through a closed-loop process of Discover → Design → Deliver, the program aims to ensure that every small intervention happens precisely where it matters: in relation to place.

首屆 LOCUS競(jìng)賽題目
本次競(jìng)賽面向全國(guó)公開(kāi)征集 2.5×2.5m 市集棚架創(chuàng)意設(shè)計(jì)方案。參賽方案需具備可拆卸與便捷收納的結(jié)構(gòu)特性,優(yōu)先考慮可持續(xù)材料與循環(huán)使用方式;同時(shí)應(yīng)滿足多場(chǎng)景、全年周期的市集使用需求,并在整體設(shè)計(jì)語(yǔ)言與空間氣質(zhì)上,與天目里國(guó)際街區(qū)的環(huán)境風(fēng)格保持一致。
競(jìng)賽向建筑、室內(nèi)、工業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)、展陳、景觀等相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的專業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)師、設(shè)計(jì)機(jī)構(gòu)與院校師生開(kāi)放。所有符合條件的參賽者,均可按統(tǒng)一要求提交作品。
競(jìng)賽組委會(huì)將從投稿方案中遴選出 6 個(gè)優(yōu)秀作品,進(jìn)入線下市集展覽與評(píng)獎(jiǎng)環(huán)節(jié)。
這次征集關(guān)注的,不是抽象意義上的“城市更新”,而是一個(gè)能夠被準(zhǔn)確描述、也能夠被真實(shí)驗(yàn)證的街區(qū)問(wèn)題:
一個(gè)棚架如何回應(yīng)使用,如何進(jìn)入場(chǎng)地,如何與天目里的日常氣質(zhì)發(fā)生關(guān)系。
This competition is now openly calling for creative design proposals for a 2.5 × 2.5 m market canopy. The proposal should incorporate a modular and easily disassembled structure, with efficient storage solutions. Priority should be given to sustainable materials and strategies for reuse. The design must accommodate year-round, multi-scenario market use, while maintaining consistency with the overall design language and spatial character of the Tianmuli International Block.
The competition is open to professional designers, design firms, and students in architecture, interior design, industrial design, exhibition design, landscape design, and related fields. All eligible participants may submit entries in accordance with the official submission requirements.
The organizing committee will select six outstanding proposals from all submissions. These finalists will proceed to the offline market exhibition and the final round of judging.
This call is not concerned with “urban renewal” in the abstract. It addresses a district condition that can be clearly identified and concretely tested: how a canopy responds to use, enters a site, and establishes a relationship with the everyday character of OōEli.

The winning team will be required to complete subsequent design development and optimization, coordinate with the factory to produce the 80 canopy units, and participate in the award ceremony, forum sharing session, and follow-up media coverage.

優(yōu)秀可落地的方案,將獲得從概念 → 樣機(jī) → 場(chǎng)景試用 → 優(yōu)化 → 規(guī)模化的全鏈路孵化支持。
LOCUS is not limited to a single open call.
Through this competition and future annual themes, outstanding design teams and individual designers will be invited to join the OōEli Designers Community, serving as core talent for the district’s long-term collaboration and co-creation.
Designers admitted to this network will receive the endorsement of the OōEli brand, along with priority invitations to participate and speak at key occasions, including exhibitions, forums, and case-study releases.
Strong, buildable proposals will also receive full-chain incubation support — from concept, prototype, and on-site testing to optimization and larger-scale implementation.
